I was browsing through Flickr recently and I came across a delicious looking profiteroles cake made by Plush n Lush Cupcakes. I had to make my own version and when my friend said she was having a dinner party I of course jumped at the chance to make dessert.
Here is my cake... The feedback from my friends was that it was delicious. One of my friends said it required a little bit more chocolate... I think they were joking.

This cake was pretty big and I think it would comfortably feed about 10 to 12 people.
I used the same chocolate recipe as detailed in my Chocolate Easter Cake blog. This recipe makes quite a lot of chocolate cake and I made 2 x 8" teirs and I had enough left over to make an extra teir which my boyfriend had for dessert that evening.
I filled the cake with a layer of marscapone mixed with whipped cream, then a layer of fresh raspberries and then added another layer of the cream mixture. The cake was covered in 70% cocoa chocolate ganache.
I topped the cake with profiteroles and drizzled more chocolate ganache on the top. the chocolate hearts are handmade using melted chocolate piped onto greaseproof paper and left to dry.
Happy Baking!
