About Ella

My name is Ella and my passion (some would say obsession) for baking and decorating cakes started around Christmas time in 2009 when I was staying at my friends parents house.  As a family they each decorate a home made Christmas cake every year and on this occasion I had the pleasure of joining in and having my own cake to decorate.  The following Christmas I decided to bake my own Christmas cakes for my family and that was it.. I had officially caught the baking bug!  I began baking cakes and all things yummy for friends and family trying out any recipe I could lay my hands on! 

I decided to take my hobby one step further and this is when the Strawberry Lane Cake Company was born.  Living on Strawberry Lane in Carshalton, Surrey, I thought it would be the perfect name.  I specialise in creating delicious works of art for all occasions using only the finest ingredients and I sell my creations locally.

Having been inspired by many baking bloggers, I have built my website for me to display my creations, discuss recent recipes I have tried out and share links I have found very useful.

I would like to thank all my family and close friends for encouraging me and being excellent guinea pigs to try my cakes out on!
